🧑🌾 Neighbouring Cottage & On-Hand Support
Next door to Carol Cottage is a second, privately-owned cottage built by the same owners and currently let to Darren, our long-term and much-loved tenant. Darren acts as our informal caretaker — you might see his name pop up in the guest book! He’s known for his friendly manner and is often on hand if you need a recommendation, directions, or just a friendly chat (about his ducks or bees).
Please note: if you are bringing dogs, these must be well behaved and controlled at all times as Darren ducks are free roaming, also local farms often have lambs & sheep in the neighbouring fields and will take action if their livestock is damaged or disturbed!
While the cottages sit beside one another, each offers complete privacy, with your own parking, garden space, and separate entrances. The location is peaceful, secluded, and surrounded by nature — the nearest (other) neighbouring property is over 200 metres away, giving you a true sense of space and serenity.

Though you’re tucked away in the countryside, the fishing town of Kilkeel is just a few miles down the road — a short drive or taxi ride. Kilkeel is home to one of Europe’s largest working fishing harbours, as well as shops, pubs, seafood restaurants, and local markets.
